The UK’s Local Government Information Unit Children’s Services Network brought together those at the forefront of Social Networking Sites research and practice to discuss the potential role of social networking sites and ways they can be used to facilitate youth participation and well-being. This seminar was relevant for all those involved in youth work and empowerment and also those with an interest in reaching out to previously uninvolved youth through new avenues.
Julia Glidden addressed the event, discussing eParticipation in the Era of Web 2.0. She took the opportunity whilst there to discuss what the European Commission is doing in terms of eParticipation and promoted the work of the Momentum project, including handing out leaflets and networking.
